Latina/o Graduate Students SOAR: Strengthening Opportunities, Access and Resources at CSUF opened the doors with Ribbon Cutting Ceremony today at CSUF. This program was funded by a grant from Department of Education awarded to California State University, Fullerton to help further its efforts to increase academic success and support to Latina/o and under represented graduate students.

Dr. Mildrid Garcia, Dr. Peter Nwosu, Assosciate VP for Academic programs, Dr. Cruz, Office of the Provost & Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Julian Jefferies (Literacy and Reading) Faculty Coordiantor and many other faculty, staff and students joined to celebrate this historic moment. CSUF was the first to bring this one of a kind program. Dr. Garcia made sure every body know that CSUF "leadng the way and showing the nation what great efforts that CSUF faculty and staff contribute to make the Campus experinece a great one for the student and train them to be a great asset to the world once they leave the academic setting and put their talents to work and make a better world."
The SOAR grant plan to support graduate students, academic achivement through academic advising, academic and personal support, professional development, mentorship and networking opportunities. The graduate Student Success Center's goal is to provide a nurturing space fostering excellence and persisitence, supporting graduate students in their journey to becoming effective scholars, professionals and agents of positive change.
